Nimble and feather light,
Bushy tailed American greys,
Came into sight.
In the most teenage fashion,
They started flirting
There in my face.
Like first-time lovers
On a sweet August day.
Cute black eyes entranced,
Tumbling in frisky frivolity,
Furry little rebels,
In mischievous harmony.
Ruffle-shuffle,
Diving through the leaves,
Utterly unaware of me
Hypnotised,
Dancing romantically.
My mind started to wander far,
I saw so much of my own
Innocent youth,
In their gleeful rapport.
These love-bitten creatures,
Together would they cope,
When the deciduous park fauna
Turns frosty white
In chilling winter snow?
Maybe they'll be,

Fresh Air ( a poem I wrote while dating my ex )
A heart once steely and cold,
Warms to this new girl
Who breaks the pattern.
She sees I am more than simply
Muscles and fashion
My heart's shackles slowly unfasten.
This woman has come to see,
The kinder soul within me.
I try to divert her fair eyes
With lies and trickery,
Yet I am powerless
To fight this affinity.
From now I can only sink
Deeper.
Her eyes hid both a sad struggle
And playful demeanour.
From which her pure heart emerges.
And so I fall in love again,
But this love I feel,
Is not the same.
A love more chaotic,
A love deep and raw,
A love which has passed through trial
And endures.
A love which is honest,
Almost painfu

Thinking (short poem about depression)
A tempest of sympathy erupts from my core,
In ways science could never explain,
My smile is erased,
I watch as your beauty,
Becomes cloaked in disdain.
You are as precious as the stars
So often as melancholy as rainfall,
These days life is unfair,
Your hopeful face,
Scarred by disillusion
Dreadful.
I wish I could give to you
An equal world,
A place of fair measures and loyalty,
I would battle God himself for this
Though in the end,
It can never be.
The air is thick with silent crying
I taste your hurt from here
Wake up from your worries
My love.
You alone can open life's glass window.
If these words were ever to reach you,

Little unborn daughter,
Out there among the sea of souls,
Yours is a great and happy life as yet untold.
A future being not yet made nor crafted,
No life skills, nor judgement yet mastered.
I am a young man wishing to be your father with great haste,
Dreaming of you little miracle,
And when time permits us,
Our first embrace.
My gentle girl.
My humble warrior.
Life shall beckon you one day,
And you shall answer.
Then at last your story will unravel,
As you grow and learn
Wander and travel.
The whole Earth is your home
Wherever you may be,
Make mistakes and rectify them
And in doing so,
Make peace.
Eventually I will leave you here,
But
This woman has come to see,
The kinder soul
Within me.
I try to divert her fair eyes,
With lies,
And trickery,
Yet I am powerless to fight
This affinity.
In sleepy night,
We ponder our woes.
When all you have left are sorrows,
And there's no reason left to fight,
When misfortune grinds your mind
Turn to the skies at night!
Ask Sirius
The dog star,
"How far must I go on?"
It will ease your restless soul
And your pains will be gone.
You speak the language of the cosmos,
So I need not translate,
Though you have forgotten the lexicon
If you spoke with the heavens they'd say:
"An eternity away your problems are,
If only you could perceive,
How our angelic lights guide you
Just as they led sailors' boats."
"See it there and be open,
To an estrella mystery
You needn't travel far from here,
